Dr. Simowitz serves as a medical consultant for the Social Security Administration.

Dr. Simowitz earned his M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia, and  received post-graduate training in internal medicine and neurology at The Ohio State University Medical Center, The Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, and the University of Michigan Medical Center.

He is certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and in electroencephalography by the American Board of Electroencephalography and Neurophysiology. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology.

Dr. Simowitz has engaged in clinical research, and has published articles in professional journals on a variety of subjects, including headache, movement disorders and the history of medicine. He has published an educational videotape on neck and back injuries. He is a Clinical Professor of Neurology (Ret.) at St. Louis University School of Medicine, and is the former Medical Director for Neurology at the St. Joseph Hospitals in St. Charles County, Missouri.
